Disclosure of Gems - an interview series with inspirational women who embody the character of Overload. Giving us a closer look at their personal treasures and the story behind them. In celebration of art, femininity, ambition, style and everything in between.

In this edition of Public Treasure we sat down with styling guru Tricja Cotterrill a.k.a. @TricjaStyling. With an impeccable feel for minimalism, the now Harpers Bazaar Fashion Editor, is everyone's go-to girl for high-end fashion advice. She’s been on the scene for a while and never ceases to amaze with her ‘Less is more’ nature with accentuating single-piece stunners and the statement selects.

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow,

Learn as if you were to live forever."

What is your most meaningful piece of jewelry and why?

My wedding ring, obviously.

What does your ideal morning look like?

Waking up before my alarm clock, with sunlight pouring into the bedroom. A cup of coffee with lots and lots of milk followed by a good breakfast. And if it’s not too much to ask… all of that on a warm holiday destination overlooking the ocean, please!

What made you do what you are doing today?

Ever since I was young, I’d always been focussed on making my own clothes and being creative in every way possible. I’ve always loved creating a look and feel or making a mood board. My walls were always covered with ripped out magazine clippings that I used as a sort of wallpaper. After my sister and I had owned our own clothing boutique in Amsterdam for two years, I started assisting for a fashion stylist. From that very moment I knew… This is what I want to do! Here I am seven years later and my passion for creating beautiful things has subconsciously become reality.

How would your friends describe you in one sentence?

If I could guess, I think it would be: down to earth, funny, spontaneous and straight to the point.

What would you like to be remembered for the most in life?

For being an honest and ‘gezellig’ person!

Name 3 things you never leave the house without?

· Lip balm

· My telephone

· My wedding ring

Do you recall your first piece of jewelry?

A watch which was given to me by my husband.

Who is your favorite artist?

I think Kat Klerks makes beautiful artwork.

What is your vice?

I have a huge sweet tooth.

What is your all time favorite quote?

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever."

How do you use jewelry and how does it help you create the look you're going for?

I often use minimalistic statement pieces in my work. A beautiful earring or ring can really make a look complete.

Favorite IG account(s) to follow?

I love Doxpeter, Isabel Marant, Linda Tol, Unconditional Magazine, Rika Magazine and Rika Studios.

Do you have a favorite piece of Overload jewelry?

The golden Nina earrings.
