JEWELRY CARE
HOW TO CARE FOR MY OVERLOAD PIECE
Overload Studios jewelry is fine in nature and requires some particular attention to ensure it's longevity.
- Avoid water contact where possible and store your jewelry away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Do not wear (plated) jewelry when in the swimming pool or while bathing or showering.
- Take care when dressing and undressing, put jewelry on last, or take it off first to avoid unnecessary pulling of your jewelry.
- Avoid contact with creams, lotions, or perfumes as these substances can cause tarnishing and can stiffen or jam any links or settings in your jewelry.
- How long the plating will last differs per person; usage and treatment, therefore we cannot give any guarantee on plated jewelry.
HOW TO STORE MY JEWELRY
Store your jewelry in a dry, cool place, in the original packaging or a jewelry pouch.
HOW TO CARE FOR MY OVERLOAD FINE 14KT PIECE
To maintain the shine of your solid gold jewelry avoid contact with creams, lotions, cleaning products, or perfumes as these substances can cause tarnishing and can stiffen or jam any links or settings in your jewelry. Particularly acidic skin may also cause premature tarnishing.
Examine and polish your jewelry regularly to ensure it's condition. We recommend the use of jewelry polishing cloth to keep them super shiny. You can find our Overload Studios Polishing Cloth here.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE SHINE OF MY SILVER PIECE
Silver jewelry requires more frequent and careful attention due to its natural tarnishing process. Store silvers in a dry, cool place, in the original packaging or jewelry pouch. When you notice it becoming dull, silver jewelry should be polished to remove any discoloration.
Avoid contact with creams, lotions, cleaning products, or perfumes as these substances can cause tarnishing and can stiffen or jam any links or settings in your jewelry. Particularly acidic skin may also cause premature tarnishing. Examine and polish your jewelry regularly to ensure it's condition. We recommend using the Overload Studios Polishing Cloth here or consulting our Silver Care Guide here.
HOW TO CARE FOR MY GOLD PLATED PIECE
Additional care should be taken with gold plated pieces, as the gold layer will naturally wear off over time. Always remove your gold plated jewelry before washing hands/showering to maintain its longevity. Clean gold plated jewelry by washing your pieces in lukewarm soapy water, rinsing and drying immediately.

MY SILVER PIECE IS TARNISHED, WHAT TO DO
It is very normal for silver jewelry to tarnish. This can occur due to your skin’s acidity, particular creams/lotions, storage conditions (e.g. air humidity), or contact with water. We recommend the use of jewelry polishing cloth or dipping your pieces into a Silver Clean Bath to keep them super shiny.

HOW TO CARE FOR MY GEMSTONE PIECE
Extra precautions should be taken with the care of gemstones as they are very delicate. Avoid (repetitive) impact against surfaces or contact with abrasive surfaces.
Gemstones are a product of nature and are therefore unique and may vary slightly in size, color, or appearance. They may also change color or appearance due to sunlight or contact with water or other liquids. Avoid extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics, and household cleaning chemicals when wearing your gemstone pieces.
